How long should students wait?

The education status quo is failing students, and even its staunchest defenders admit it will take years to fix.

Nebraska Senator Matt Hansen recently said it would take 50 years to fix Omaha public schools. Yet when asked what to tell families in the meantime, he admitted:

“I mean, honestly, I don’t know.

This is unacceptable.

Luckily, there are better options than simply waiting as more and more children fall through the cracks. The Opportunity Scholarships Act, LB1237, would create a program for children from lower-income families to receive a scholarship to attend private school. Kids can’t wait. Tell your senator to vote on behalf of Nebraska parents and children and pass LB1237.
